TEVA Volleyball Club

The Edge Volleyball Academy

About our club

The Edge Volleyball Academy (TEVA) is a faith-based, JO Volleyball Club located in Twinsburg at The Edge sports complex. We’re launching this season with 10s and 11s teams at the Regional Level. Our plan is build a great foundation and build upon it in coming seasons. Our focus will be on developing girls holistically - technical, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. We’re going to deliver an elite-level program focused on development! Ultimately, our goal is to help your daughter cultivate her character and contribute to the world through the vehicle of volleyball!

Building a Better
Club... for All!

Player First

A heart exists beneath each jersey, and that heart holds hopes, dreams and a life beyond the game. We’ll love your daughter and provide a holistic approach that develops her on and off the court. She will receive technical & tactical training, sports performance, mental coaching, nutrition planning, personal/spiritual development and periodic evaluations. If she desires to play at the next level, we’ll assist with college recruiting through showcases, highlight videos, consultation and more.

Here's Why and How

In youth sports, the real impact isn’t often known right away; instead, it is years down the road when we see what kind of citizens they have become. Few will go on to play a sport professionally, but all can have a great impact in the world.

We believe each key stakeholder - parents, coaches, support staff - is important in a young athletes’ development. Consequently, we endeavor to invest in the athlete, as well as stakeholders.

The best resources in youth sports development shouldn’t be a secret, nor should they be preserved for a select few. Instead, every family should know and have access to the best information and opportunities for their child to develop into the best version of who they can become. We endeavor to change the game and change lives.

We believe there is a a better way!

Parents

We believe parents are their child’s “first coach.” You know your child best and have the highest interest in her overall development. We’ll educate you about the sport and how to maximize it for her development, now and the future. We’ll keep you informed, support your goals for your daughter and be a resource in whatever way we can. As a 501c3 non-profit, we’ll endeavor to price programming fairly, provide need-based scholarships and offer extra training opportunities for your daughter’s development.

Coaches

We will recruit and retain quality coaches by supporting them and investing in their professional and personal development. This will include staffing each team with a dedicated coach, ongoing coaching development, good pay, tournament per diems, and other benefits and perks!

Staff

Our club will be supported by a director, program coordinator and experienced personnel in sports performance, mental coaching and nutrition. We will maintain director and coach-level memberships with USAV, OVR, etc. to access the best resources the sport has to offer. We’ll leverage technology using platforms and tools that enhance development.

High Standards

Above all, we’ll maintain the highest standards of conduct and professionalism, and require the same of every stakeholder. We’ll strive to live out, consistently, our core values of love, excellence and service. We promise!

Helping youth cultivate their character

and contribute to the world.

Tryouts

About our tryouts:

While tryouts by nature are competitive, our aim is to create an environment of development and discovery. We understand the potential of a player is not always apparent in settings like tryouts; it often lies beneath the surface. Therefore, our evaluation process seeks to look beyond what’s immediately apparent. So, we encourage the girls to come, play, enjoy and be themselves. Help us to experience who she really is. Also, it is the parent’s choice whether to remain in the gym, watch from our upstairs or leave the building during tryouts. In the end, we want this to a positive experience for each girl, regardless of the outcome.

Steps to take to participate in our tryouts:

Step One: Check your child’s age definition for the 2024-25 season

Step Two: Purchase a tryout membership with the OVR.

Ohio Valley Region (OVR) volleyball requires that all players have a current tryout membership before participating in any tryout.

Both lists will be posted on our website within 24 hours of the tryout. Contracted players (parents) will be contacted directly via phone.
